   Hi
   My categories don't seem to be deleting properly. I have deleted some categories, and they have apparently been deleted from the manage categories page, but when I try to add them again, a message tells me it already exists.
   Weirder still, on the write post page they all show up in alphbetical order after the "uncategorized" category, but not in heirarchy.
   I can re-add categories no probs on my wordpress.com account but not on my freehostia.com installation.
   Anyone have any ideas my this might be?

   I have the same problem. I installed wordpress three days ago and yesterday deleted two categories. The deleted categories seem to stay somewhere beneath the surface. I cannot add them again. I re-installed wordpress on the same server, but the problem remains.
