Support » Fixing WordPress » Random question marks in preview posts on wordpress

  • I’m trying to put together an interview on my wordpress site. When I click “preview” to look at the post before making it live, there are a bunch of random question marks within the body of the post that I did not put there to begin with.

I understand sometimes other languages used in posts can cause this to happen if you don’t have the right plug-ins, etc. But there aren’t many words in the post that are of a foreign language. The only thing I see is “Thai”, when the interviewee is talking about food.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

  • Do not not ‘cut and paste’ this content.

    Why?

    A) It is likely encoded such that your site cannot support these.
    B) If from a Rich Text Editor (like Word, MS Word, EMails), there may be hidden formatting characters.
    C) As such can contain hidden formatting, it can also contain hidden code.

Only add text manually or when verified with a plain text editor such as:

NotePad++. <===reveals hidden characters in text files.
