    Hi,

I set up the Rotating widget and chose random but it doesn’t seem to make the testimonial show up random at all. It always starts with the same one and goes through them in the same order even though I have it set to the random setting.

    I have things set to:

    Group: All
    Template: Testimonial, Author, Date, URL
    Sort by: Random / Ascending
    Second between: 20
    Truncate to words: 100
Check boxes checked on: Automatic Rotation and Show Links
    Link position; bottom

    Have any ideas??

    Thank you for your help!

What version of the plugin are you using? It’s working for me. Also, do you have a caching plugin setup on your site? That could cause it to not be random.

    We have Version 2.2.8

We are hosted at Wp Engine and they seem to have EverCache built into their set up. So I am guessing we do have Caching technology running. We do not have a caching plugin set up on this site.

Is there anyway to get it to be random?

    Thank you for your help!

    At this time, no.

The ordering is done in the database query and outputs them in a hidden element on the page. Since there is caching by WP Engine, it uses the cache instead of hitting the database every time.

I will look into using javascript to also randomly select the order.

    Jeff
