I have installed and reinstalled WordPress several times, and I can't seem to stop getting random 500 Internal Server Errors. The site seems to work fine, but about every 1/5 times I load a page it randomly generates the error. Help?
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
- resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and deleting your WP .htaccess file? If that works, then try setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

Ugh. I think it has something to do with the Absolute Privacy plug-in I have installed. Now I'm constantly getting the error and can't get in to disable it. I guess I'm reinstalling WordPress again.
I realize nobody can get in to look at the problem because of the plug-in. Sorry about that. Will have it fixed momentarily.

Thanks. Will try those steps.
Did you intentionally password protect your site before viewing? If yes, then it seems fine to me. If not, then double check your home folder (public_html) it seems it redirects to your wp-login page. How did you install wordpress?

Alright. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled WordPress. I have no plug-ins installed, I am using the default theme, and I'm not using a custom permalink structure. Still getting random Error 500s.
Any other ideas?
pcgrejaldo: I have installed WordPress manually and also through my hosting provider (fatcow.com). Both ways have resulted in the Error 500s.

PS: You can all visit docsandbox.com now. There is no password protection enabled at the moment.

Deleted my .htaccess file too. Still didn't help.

Looks like after clearing my cache and cookies, deleting the .htaccess file did the trick. Thanks!
