Quicktags.php and WPGrins (7 posts)

I have completely stumped myself. I'm implementing Alex King's WPGrins for a client and got the smilies to show up in the comment area, but can't get them to show up in the admin interface.

The readme file says to insert the code in the quicktags.php file, which should be located in /wp-admin, but all I see is a quicktags.js file and when I try to add the code to the end of that file, the quicktags in the admin interface disappear.

The stupid thing is, I've added them before on my own site and my husband's site, but for some reason tonight I'm drawing a blank!

    Have you checked this thread?

I'm pretty sure 1.5 setup for WPgrins in the admin section is different than 1.2.

That's it Lawtai! Thanks! I swear I did a search and didn't find that thread! Looks like Alex needs to update his readme file so it's compatible with 1.5.

    Thanks again!

Is there an easier way to add the smilies to the comments as well? After modifying the files listed in the readme.html file, the comment form is messed up. There's no box to enter name, email address or URL. There's just a comment box and it says:

"Logged in as . Logout »"

And if you try to comment, it says it cannot post your comment because the required fields aren't filled in. Any idea what's causing this?

Actually, I just wiped everything out and reinstalled and it's all good.
