Hi! I am very new to WP and have a basic web site set up as a test prior to a possible full migration to WP.
I need to have a very easy Post/Page edit screen for my users. I am trying to use Quicktags and have spent hours searching this forum and Google without any luck. I know what they are and how they work and how they can be extended (very useful) but I can't see them or see where I implement them.
I have tried Xinha4WP and it has a quick tags button (but has other negative UI issues).
IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY OF SWITCHING ON QUICKTAGS?
While I'm here; does anyone have any recommendations about a better Wysiwyg editor for WP; my eventual users can cope with a word processor and not much more!
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Peter
You can find them in wp-includes/js/quicktags.js
Evita,
I had actually found them; what I was asking is how do I make them visible in the writer editor?
Peter
They are visible in the normal editor or do you use the WYSIWYG-Editor. If so, you can change this in your profile.
Evita,
Thanks, I have found (at long last) how to switch between Rich Text Editor and simple text editor.
Thanks,
Peter
I have the same problem. How DO you change between Simple & Rich Text Editors? WordPress sometimes can be confusing since the menus aren't always the same. Thanks in advance.
Well, in 2.0+ branch, in your user profile page scroll down to the bottom, uncheck the box left corner to disable the wysiwyg.
In 2.1+ branch, I have no idea.
Thanks. I just found it also.
To all those having the same problems w/ WP v 2.1.2, go to USERS >> YOUR PROFILE, then untick the "Use the visual editor when writing" box.
Refresh your "Write Post" page, & it should be there already.
