I've been trying to play a video in a post made via the Android app (using the Quick Video function) to my WordPress blog. When trying to play the video, results vary depending on what browser I'm using. Here's the rundown:
IE8 (Win XP and Win 7): Inserts a download link to the file, which plays through Windows media player) - Pass
On FF for Windows, I get a grey box with an X in the middle of it.
On FF for OSX, I get a grey box with the error message inside it "No video with supported format and MIME type found."
My issue here is to get these videos working with Firefox.
Initial research suggested to add the following code into my .htaccess file:
AddType video/ogg .ogv AddType video/mp4 .mp4 AddType video/webm .webm
The result didn't differ.
When using a wrapper, the result was still the same - no change:
<IfModule mod_mime.c> AddType video/ogg .ogv AddType video/mp4 .mp4 AddType video/webm .webm </IfModule>
I have contacted my host, who informs me they've run out of ideas.
Has anybody else had this trouble trying to play back 'Quick Video' in Firefox? If so, did you find a solution?
