Hi Everyone, now this is going to be a real simple problem for someone, I just cant get my brain in gear this morning....

So here is the deal, I am finishing developing a site that will use WordPress 3.1.3 as the CMS backbone, therefore I will be using it to manage the site and run a blog on the domain.

So to accomplish this I create a page that I just labeled home and under the reading tab I selected this "home" page as the static home page.

Now for the static blog page I want to do the same, for example; the blog address I want on the site will be

    http://www.mysitename.com/blog/

now I have set up the permalinks to work the way I need, but here is the rub...

During the site set up we have created and deleted a few different pages named "blog", and so when I create the new page to use and try and set up the page slug to be "blog" it wont work.

What I end up with is "blog-4" for the slug, now if I go in and delete the current page named blog and then create it again to restart the process when I try and name that pages slug "blog" it again wont work. When I save the page it will save the slug as "blog-5"

Now that is a real problem for the site as I dont want the default slug for blog posts to be : http://www.mydomain.com/blog-5/postname/

    What I want is

    http://www.mydomain.com/blog/postname

Any help here would be greatly appreciated..

Thank you everyone and have a good day

Well everyone, I guess I got my brain in gear, and I hope this can help others that may run into this issue.

All you need to to is no only trash the old pages but delete them and there you go,

    /blog/ is available again..
