    Hello

I've never used multisites in WP before so sorry if this is really obvious!

I have a requirement of building a network of a 13 sites. What I need to know is if it's possible to publish a post to several sites at once or do you have to create the same content for each site separably?

For example can I from the 'master' site say publish this post to site 1, 3, 4 and 8 only?

    Thanks!!

Thanks Tim will test this one. I take it it's not a built in feature then. Hopefully it's something that can be done in a future version.

That's unlikely. The WordPress design philosophy is to keep the core code to the essentials, and do them well - but allow simple customisation via plugins.
All you need to do is install the plugin, e.g. by uploading it to your wp-plugins directory, activate it in the Plugins menu of your blog, and Multi-Post is a feature of your install. :-)

I know about WordPress, it's just that I try to limit the number of plugins I use as I don't like to rely on a plugin for a core feature on a site.

Just thought this seemed to be an obvious feature to have in a network of sites, it doesn't really seem to be a 'network' otherwise.

  6. Actually it does seem like a network when you realize that WordPress.com is sort of the starting point for how WP thinks a network works. :)

Hundreds of totally unrelated sites. With THAT in mind, it makes perfect sense why there's no built-in broadcast ability. You'd never WANT to post about sausages on everyone's personal site ;)

  7. each site is siloed content in a network - separate admin areas for.... separate sites. ;)

Thanks all for the confirmation. At least I know that it's not possible now without plugins :)

Will give the plugin above a go as the client wants separate sites with contributors only having access to their own sites but they must all be interconnected for the main admins to post articles to all sites at once when required.

  9. If that plugin isn't right, check out this one as well:
