So, basically, the title. I have an uploaded file (a PDF) that I put up with the form for a new page. What's the easiest way of replacing it with a new (identically named), same link), file? Thanks

using an ftp client.
1. open ftp client
2. connect to your site using ftp client
3. delete old file
4. upload new file
Thanks, I know that solution, but this is for a client-maintained site. There isn't any way to do this via the web, with plugins, etc?
Darn. Should've used Textpattern.

snarky remarks will get you far around here. not.
maybe you need to develop your own solution, sounds like you might be getting paid -- might also be a good time to learn a little PHP.
Not meant to be (that) snarky. I've used TXP for the last 5 or 6 projects I've done, and WP for this one. It has its ups and downs. I know plenty of PHP (I've written about 13 plugins for TXP) but kind of thought this functionality would be common enough for a faster solution.
I've noticed a LOT of snarky posts lately. It's actually appeared to derail several threads, causing some to feel that they were being insulted by the haughty replies (on the Q side, and the A side). Anyone else notice that?
I wish the volunteer helpers here would just post a clear answer like Whooami's post #2 in this thread, and not some of the edgy commentary I noticed in several other threads the last few days. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like this forum has had more debates and less of the clear support Q&A that I come here for.
Geez, WordPress has a massive community and no 'core' community feeling. Snarky comments will come and go, as will forum users, undoubtedly.
I was just bummed because what seemed like normal functionality was missing.
I'll post a link to the plugin when I finish it.
