Questions from a WP Noob (1 post)

I recently was put in charge of the website for our organization as we moved to a new host. The new host provides WP3.0 (which I am really starting to like) but I have a couple of questions I would like to see if I can find answers to.

    1) Everything is pointing to the installed directory for WP, but I need to have it call to the registered domain name. Is there a way I can put an index file or something in my root web directory that points to the 'home' page I created (and set as home in the settings)?

    2) I need to reorder the links for the pages on the site to put them in business chronological order. I installed one of the drag and drop tools for 3.0 and while I can drag, when I drop it goes back to its original position.

Regarding question 1, I did find an entry regarding copying, not moving, the index.php and .htaccess files from the WP root to the root web directory of the host. I moved the index.php and it calls to a blank page. I tried doing the hidden file look for .htaccess and could not locate the file anywhere, unless my ftp client isn't smart enough to find it. :) Being Mozilla, I doubt that. Could be user error. :)

Anyway, thanks for the input, I will include the links below (though I did activate the 'site undergoing maintenance' option for the time being for the direct url since I know I'll hear lots of stuff if they just get a blank page.)

    registered URL: http://www.fellowshipsquare.org
    WordPress URL: http://www.fellowshipsquare.org/fsf *
