   Does anyone know of a plugin that will allow a user to create a profile and upload images, video, and event dates? I would like something that doesnt change the look of my site already. Basically what i want is bands to be able to create a profile and post their info. Is there such a plugin or is there a easy way to do this?

   Give your bands a user account and give it restricted editing privileges. Band members can then login and post information, which would be available from author pages.

   Guess I should explain this better. I only want the bands to be able to post on a page for them, i guess you could call it a profile page. When they enter tour dates i want it to post to a main calendar, but that is the only thing. Everything else they post wont be displayed anywhere but their page. This is all something i could do on my own but im looking for a way for the bands to do it themselves. Im trying to create something to advertise local bands.

   You can easily exclude particular authors from the main page, or conversely, restrict the blog page to your posts only.

   Don't get me wrong. That isn't the only way to do it, and I'm not telling you that you have to do it this way. That is in my opinion the easiest and quickest way to do it, though. It isn't the most flexible and your don't have the bells and whistles you might want, but it can be done with very little effort.

   So is there a plugin to do that with the bells and whistles or is it something that would have to be written?

   There's something a bit more than a plugin, http://mu.wordpress.org
   Each band could get a blog to itself, but there'd be a fair amount of additional work involved.

   Otherwise, you could use regular wordpress, restrict authors to specific categories named after their band, and drop /category/ from the url, if you please. Then, add a gig calendar.

   Couple that with apldji's suggestion, and you should be good to go.

   That's how I'd do it.

   I'm not aware of any plugin that does what you want, but then I don't have the plugin archive memorized. There might be something in there.
