Question Regarding WP Release Archive

    In the WP Release Archives, it says at the top…

    “This is an archive of every release we’ve done that I have a record of.

    None of these are safe to use, except the latest in the 2.0 or 2.3 series, which are both actively maintained.”

    Does that mean any installation of 2.2.X is unsafe for use and not maintained? Just want to get super clear on that. Thanks.

    Yes.

    At certain point the 2.x versions got “forked:
    there was the 2.0.x branch and the 2.1 branch.
    Since then the 2.1. evolved into 2.2 and later 2.3.
    Which means nothing is safe in the latter line, except the latest.

    Moshu,

    I see now. I am using a template that was 2.2 compatible, but the website of the template hasn’t updated to say if it is compatible with 2.3 or not. Do you think it is safe to try updating to 2.3? Thank you so much for your help.
