Question about subscription-link (2 posts)

    Hello there,

So, I am completely new to wordpress and I'm trying to decide which theme to go for. As you all know there are a lot of themes to choose from around the web and I am looking for one that is simple and responsive. I have an idea of what I want it to look like - a big picture with some text saying basically "I'm awesome, subscribe to my newsletter", I have found a few templates that look like that (like this one http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/vertex/)
But here's the thing; I want the visitor to be able to put in their Name and email without being transferred to a "sign me up" page. In other words, I want to make it as easy as possible for them to sign up, with the "input" - box right in front of their eyes, without them having to click on anything at all.

How do I do that? Does it matter which template I use? Or can I just add that on later to any template I choose? Does it require a plugin?

I don't want the sign up to be on a side-bar, but right in front of their face.

I am so thankful to anyone that takes their time to help!

    Cheers, Nathalie

All we can suggest is that you browse the themes in http://wordpress.org/themes/ The tag filter may help you narrow down your search to just the themes containing the features that you want. Any additional functionality that you need may be added via plugins.

Does it matter which template I use?

Not really although I would recommend choosing one that has been developed using wordpress.org standards - such as any of the free themes in https://wordpress.org/themes/

Or can I just add that on later to any template I choose? Does it require a plugin?

    Yes.
