Question about how to best solve my problem - multisite (9 posts)

I currently run a single WordPress blog.

I want to create 3 other blog sites, but I want the main blog site to manage all the content. The three other sites should receive their content based on certain categories and tags associated with articles on the main site.

    Does this make sense?

What is the best way to accomplish this solution?

  2. Why do they need to be separate sites at all?

Different URLs, different look and feel...

    Different template.

I was thinking about using a feed aggregator to grab the content from the main site.

All of them have their own domains, own installations of WordPress...

  5. DON'T do it with RSS. That gets bad.

I just wanted to be sure you really had a reason for MultiSite. :)

One thing to worry about would be duplication of content.

Allows you to duplicate posts and pages to multiple sub-blogs at once.

  6. Different URLs, different look and feel...

    Different template.

You can do that all in multisite.

pulling content of all subsites (even on separate domains) to the main page of the network:

  7. Yeah, I wasn't sure if he wanted that or the other way.... (post from main and copy to subs...)

I do want it that way.

Push content FROM main site to Sub Sites.

All content will be managed on Main Site.

Based on categories/tags, certain content should be pushed to the sub sites.

  9. Allows you to duplicate posts and pages to multiple sub-blogs at once.
