is there a default setting? meaning, if a blog gets copied w/ the plugin installed, does it default to one of the options or does it still require to be set?

i’m trying to wrap my head around this, mika, i know you’re extremely knowledgeable of multisites, just not sure what direction to go in.

i have ‘multisite user management’ installed, which hasn’t been updated since mid last year, and that requires manually changing the setting for each new blog in the network admin.

ideally, in the near future, i’d like to set it up where users can have their own blog and have a feature “exactly” like you have in this plugin but don’t necessarily know which is the best route, and still looking for the right solution(s).

    appreciate ur thoughts.

No, there is no default setting because the goal was to let each site decide how to do it. I don’t have any interest in a homogeneous multisite setup where all sites are the same with that. Also I can’t know what page to use for registration.

One could fork it, or the script a way to auto add all new users to all sites, but at that point, I question if multisite was the right choice.

understood. i’m just trying to think of ways to simplify the start up of a blog for users. and that’s pretty much the only reason multisite applies here is because of the separate blog option i’m thinking about, otherwise, i completely agree with your assessment since after using multisite for a little while now, it’s much easier to see the pros and cons of using it.

    thanks for the input. 🙂
