Is there a better place to ask for support? I am not against paying to have this looked at. We are currently looking at 40 sec page loads on the user list screen with WP User Avatar active. Non-issue when inactive.

    Hello Rich,

Extremely sorry for delay our side. I checked that and that’s true that we’re checking if gravatar exist or not. Do you want us to check this once in a day using cron job? or something you have in the mind?

    Thanks

I’m not sure I am experienced enough to answer this question. Can you confirm that these load times on the user list page are happening on several installs. It might be best to see if this is an isolated incident on my server, or something many people are suffering from.

I can confirm that I am having performance issues on both of our sites using WP User Avatar, but only on the user list page. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Is this only an issue if you enable gravatars? I’m just starting a new site with the plugin so I have only a couple of users. It’d be good to know up front whether performance will be an issue later.

We have confirmed this issue and working to solve it. Thanks guys for your point out.

I am having the same issue. It slows down waiting time of user listing of 20 people by ~6 seconds. Once you untick gravatar support, the page loads in 0.4s.
I am not sure why you need to do the requests on the server side, as it makes more sense to check if there is a local avatar; and if there is none load gravatar on the client side.

    Hi,

I am experiencing extremely slow response times. After a plugin scan, it seems WP User Avatar is the culprit. I disabled gravitar. Is there anything else I can? I love the plugin, and I’d like to keep it, but the site is sooooo slow when it’s activated. Any advice?

    Hi,

This is because of requests fetched from gravatar. We’re thinking to setup this as a cron job so everytime when profile display it don’t send a request to external server. I’ll keep you updated on 28th August.

    Thanks
