• Hello,

I use qTranslate on my single site (http://www.weigertimages.com) to display 3 languages (English, German, Hungarian). I use shortcodes for my NextGEN gallery images. All the images have qTranslate quicktags in the NextGEN Alt & Title Text fields, in this manner:

    [:en]Vancouver Cityscape[:de]Vancouver Stadtbild[:hu]Vancouver, Kanada

After uprading to NextGEN 2.0.0, on the Gallery dashboard I could see only the English version (Vancouver Cityscape) in the Alt & Title Text field without quicktags. Navigating on my website and hovering the mouse on the image the alt text was displayed without a separation in the languages, with the shortcode:

    [:en]Vancouver Cityscape[:de]Vancouver Stadtbild[:hu]Vancouver, Kanada

    instead of

    Vancouver Cityscape

in the English version, etc. NextGEN didn’t interpret the qTranslate quicktags anymore.

By the way, when I wanted to add a new gallery/image (top menu item), I also got the message that I don’t have the right for it. I quickly reverted back to the former version of NextGEN.

Please sort this issue out, as a lot of users use qTranslate – a very handy plugin – and this version is a step backward at the moment.

    Other problems:

    – on Localhost I cannot even move into galleries, I start to get a repeated long URL and an error.
    – the sytlesheet (nggallery.css) doesn’t exist anymore to give a decent look to the thumbnails.

We face a huge stepback not only regarding stability and usability at the moment but also the functions are narrowed down compared with the former version. I hope, all this will be sorted out.

I have a site where qtranslate is also broken for the galleries as described in the first post.

I am rolling back to the previous version until someone can find a fix for this.

… the same happened to my site! lost all image translataions.
rolling back too, but I think I will have retype al the language tags again.

Does anyone have a solution for this already??

… no solution yet, though i must admit i haven’t searched for it. i’m using the the previous version again.

You can also use NextCellent gallery, which is a Photo Gallery for WordPress providing NextGEN legacy compatibility from version 1.9.13 .

qTranslate, WPML, and i18n support will finally be coming in the next release.
