QTip jQuery Conflict, How to Resolve?

    I am attempting to install JR QTip in order to style the pop up tooltips that display the alt tags when hovering over a link.

    however it seems to conflicting with the slideshow running on the same jquery 1.3.2 library. Any suggestions to resolving this? I am also trying to figure out how to combine and simplify all the JS files, get them to the footer and make everything play nice and fast. Without breaking the theme
