[resolved] [Q] What to specify for URLs in the General Settings Screen (3 posts)

In general settings there are two fields:

    WordPress address (URL) ...

    Site address (URL) ...

My WordPress software is installed in http://localhost/blog, where "http://mysite.com" is a registered domain mapped to http://localhost.

During site configuration, I had both URLs set to http://localhost/blog and everything went quite smoothly. Once I was satisfied with the look and feel, I changed both URLs to my registered doman, http://mysite.com/blog.

No Joy! The whole installation crashed like a house-of-cards and I can not get back into the settings administration screen, tho' I can get to the home page (but it doesn't display any wp stuff).

What did I do wrong and how do I get back to the dashboard so I can repair it?

    Thanks, in advance

Thanks, Samuel. I found the solution at about the same time I received the notification from the forum. Using phpmyadmin I looked at the relevant table entry and found I had mistyped the url. I corrected it in the DB and all is well.

Thanks, again for the quick response.
