[resolved] Putting WordPress in WAMP to build multiple sites (6 posts)

Hi, I am very new to WordPress. I saw a tutorial for installing WordPress on my local computer by copying the files straight to the www file in WAMP. The problem is, I want to be able to build multiple sites. I tried putting WordPress in www in its own file, but then it didn't work.

I know I'm probably doing it wrong. I want each site to have its own file in www, both to keep each site from interfering with the others on the local computer, and to make moving the site online easier. Some other topics in here point to a help file about installing on MAMP, but I'm using WAMP, which is for Windows (MAMP is for mac). Mebbe I'm being dumb or dense, but I can't figure it out. Can someone please help?

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

you could try multisite, although it's a bit trickier to move

You can install as many wordpress as you want just keep each install in a folder in www

Example you will wordpress in folders
to get each one you will be going to
    http://localhost/wordpress
http://localhost/foldername which will 2nd wordpress and so on .
