   I am just about to publish a blog. There are a few "essays" I would like to place into a category but leave them off the front page. Is there a way to do this?

   You would need to modify part of your code to leave off the category that you want for the essays. There are other methods to doing this, but this seems to be the most easiest solution.

   It's fairly easy to modify the loop for the front page to exclude categories. Lemme see if I can find a link for understanding it. Have you tinkered with the template for your site? :)
