Hi folks, new to this stuff so pardon my ignorance.

I have an ecommerce site http://www.spheralsolar.com/ that I want to put a blog onto. I have a blog started at http://bergssolarblog.wordpress.com/ that I can mover over. The problem: Network solutions, the ecom host, cannot create a subdomain or anything that will host the blog on the spheralsolar domain. Unbelievable, but I've tried for 4 weeks to no avail.

They tell me I can have a separate hosted site (wordpress, or other) and have a reader bring over the blog posts to http://www.spheralsolar.com/blog, but we need plugins on both ends (wordpress and ecom) and the NS folks are totally clueless how to do this. Do you guys have any clue on how to do this?

Sounds like they can at least make a directory, so you can have your blog in that directory. Once it's installed (I don't suppose they've got Fantastico for one-click instal, have they?) then make sure the main user and password are the same as your existing blog on wordpress.com

Then disable plugins and use Tools / Export on wordpress.com, and in your new blog in the new directory Tools / Import to transfer the blog over.

    After that, add plugins.

Is that what you're looking for?
