My posts which have been published are being automatically reset to draft status. I have no idea what can be causing this. Any input much appreciated.

Hi kitfordham,
To rule out any possible issues with a theme or plugins, I would recommend changing to the default theme and disabling all plugins. Once that is done, you can switch back to your current theme and test your site. If everything is correct, try re-enabling plugins one by one and test after you enable each plugin to pinpoint if a plugin or combination of plugins could be causing this.
