Publish large amount of posts at once

Well, suppose you have to add more than a thousand posts to publish on WordPress blog that are ready to copy/paste/publish. How do you do it? Manually copy and paste and then finally publish? It is such a large and tedious task. Is there anyway to do this automatically?

Actually, I want to build Yet Another Quotations Collection Website. As there are already 10’s of thousands of quotes available on Internet. I have many of them downloaded in pdf/docs and many of then online.

So, how do I publish all those quotations making individual posts for each of them?
