• Publicize is not posting to Facebook at all. It’s publishing to Twitter, but not Facebook.

When we publish a blog post, we make sure all the boxes are checked for the connections we have established, yet when we go back and look after the blog post is published, the boxes are mysteriously unchecked as if it didn’t even recognize that we checked the boxes.

We have 70 clients all experiencing the same issue and yes, we’re are using the most recent version of Jetpack.

We also have a few clients who are experiencing malformed permalinks (going to Page not Found URL’s), images not posting, etc.

However, mostly it’s just not publishing at all to Facebook.

Could you post an example of a site where you experience this issue, so I can have a closer look?

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

Same issues. Publicize sending bad links to facebook, twitter, etc…

If people follow the link it takes them to a non-existent page, and they get a 404.

    also

The facebook button does not share. It only adds a like. Twitter and others seem to share OK

    Thank you!

I have been having this problem as well. It will post to FB and TW a few times and then without warning stops doing so?

I have 70 clients experiencing this issue. Would you like me to send you their support tickets they’ve submitted to my company?

I don’t mean to sound annoyed, but how can I show you a specific example, when it’s widespread across all my clients?

I’ve personally tested this with own blog and it does not work. For those who are experiencing malformed links, most of my clients are not leaving those links out there on the web and rightly so.

Looking at all the other submissions here, this is definitely a widespread issue that needs to be addressed.

@pgale2 It seems there are 2 issues here:

    • Malformed links are indeed a known issue. We’re looking into it, and I will post again as soon as I have a solution.
    • For your clients whose posts are not being publicized, I’m afraid I’ll need to look at the sites one by one to understand the problem. If all sites are hosted on the same server, the problem could be caused by a single connection issue. But many other factors can come into play here, such as other plugins in use on the sites, or changes to the Facebook account linked to the site. I’m afraid I can’t give you any generic solution here. Of course, I don’t want to put the burden on you so you could suggest to your clients to use the Debugger included in Jetpack to contact us. They can do so by clicking on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of their Jetpack menu.

    Thanks!

Publicize has been working for us posting to Facebook without incident since it’s initial release in Jetpack 2.0 That’s when we installed it.

All of our clients are setup with exactly the same plugins. Our clients accounts are on 2 different high-powered servers hosted with Liquid Web… so it’s not a server issue. Publicize only stopped working for Facebook with the most recent updates of Jetpack.

We have just released a fix for the malformed links issue. Could you ask some of your clients to try to publish a new post, and let me know if the problem is fixed?

As per your other clients having general Publicize issues, please ask them to contact us directly via the Debugger. I’ll be happy to have a closer look at the problem on their site.

I tested the Debugger at the link below with 5 of my clients sites that are having issues.

    http://jetpack.me/support/debug/

According to your debugger, there are no issues. I get the message, “Everything looks great!” yet Publicize is still not posting to Facebook for those clients with the most recent Jetpack update.

Could you run the debug test on all 5 sites, and send me the test results by following these instructions:

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in the dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

If I know the sites’ URLs, along with other useful information about each site, I will be able to investigate further.

    Thanks!
