Publicize – Auto-Publish Posts to Facebook/Twitter/etc

    Hi All,

    I noticed that WordPress.com users have access to a feature called ‘Publicize’: http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

    The feature allows users to link their Facebook/Twitter/Yahoo accounts to their wordpress blog so that posts on WordPress automatically get posted (and publicized) on their social networking accounts.

    Does wordpress.org have an equivalent or something similar?
    At the moment, I use the plugin ‘Sociable’ but that requires manual publicizing.

    I would also like to see the wordpress.com Publicize feature released as a .org plugin. It looks great! mdawaffe (Mike Adams of Automattic) posted on the MU forums months ago that he was thinking of cleaning up the code for release but I couldn’t find any mention of it after that. Anyone know the current status?

    So I too have been looking for a function that will publicize to various social media sites, although I was looking for something more for Twitter. I decided to use “WP to Twitter” which seems to work pretty well for me. It actually looks and functions very closely to the “Publicize” feature in WordPress.com. I came across some other plugins that seem to do similar things for other websites via a Google search for “best wordpress plugins.” Best of luck!
