• Guys I got my new wordpress blog all designed nicely and ready to go on photoshop I tried to use plugins to make it work a photoshop plug in called divine element, but it dident work.
The design is rather complicated, and I got no money to pay for someone to convert it to a theme is there anywhere I can learn how to do this manually or an amazon book??

you can add me on skype shaked tayeb if your interested in helping.

  • There are no automatic solutions that will give you a good result. At least none I know of. My recommendation is that you first convert you .psd to HTML and then make a wordpress theme with that markup, since the hardest part will probably be coding of the html.

Here are some good tutorials: http://designm.ag/resources/converting-psd-to-html/

thanks but i am a little lost it looks a bit complicated.
what am i spouse to do i dont get it.

do i convert the psd to html?

    then html to css?

    then css to wordpres?

Sorry! I assumed you had some experience with html coding.

Essentially, yes. First, you’ll have to make a html file styled with css and then convert that into a wordpres theme. You will use the markup and design you made from your .PSD but adding the wordpress theme logic to interact with wp.

I’m sorry, but if you’re not comfortable enough with html and css to do this, I don’t think you’ll be able to convert your .PSD to a wordpress theme. Unless there’s some automated tool I don’t know of.

I suggest going to lynda.com and finding CSS-Trick’s Chris Coyier’s tutorial. The tutorial follows him as he converts his psd design into a semantically coded html document, and then into a wordpress custom theme. It’s how I got my start in wordpress, and I highly recommend it.
