Proper Yoast Configuration To Prevent Content Duplication?
-
Hi!
I just fixed a bad problem but created a worse one by deactivating Yoast after an IT expert reviewed copy-pasted Page Editor code and said Yoast was causing content to display in 7-10-fold duplicate on several pages at http://www.luckeywriter.com.
After repeatedly getting a Code 403 Error on every attempt to bulk deactivate all plug-ins, I finally figured out that it might be Jetpack causing lack of permissions to bulk deactivate. After deactivating JetPack, duplicated content reduced to just 1 repeat rather than 7 or 10.
Upon deactivating Yoast SEO immediately afterward, ALL duplicated content finally disappeared. HOWEVER, a good SEO plugin is obviously mandatory and overwhelming expert consensus advises Yoast is #1 for WP bloggers.
I also suspect that mis-inserted Google Analytics Universal Tracking Code was a contributing cause, being a technical neophyte with no prior experience in website setup and maintenance, etc. So I’m virtually 100% sure that I didn’t insert GA tracking codes properly.
Can anyone advise me about how to reactivate Yoast and allow GA tracking w/o having this issue reoccur?
Thanks in advance.
