• Hi there. I’ve been a professional LAMP developer for a couple of years but just recently dipped my toe into the waters of fully setting my own VPS and a LAMP stack from scratch. It’s been fun but tricky at times!!

I setup the wordpress site http://www.robertphilp.com a few weeks ago and have since been tweaking and tuning and seeing what’s possible. I’d value any opinions on the site, although I’d ask you to be gentle on me given that it is running on a VERY lightweight spec, only 256MB RAM on the VPS but enough to use as a learning tool. I am going to put out open-source code contributions(when they’re ready!!), tutorials and general development/technology writings on the site, as well as personal stuff of course.

I am hoping to develop a few basic WordPress plugins soon too as a learning exercise, but in the meantime I’d love a little feedback. The design is a template I found plus a few tweaks from myself.

    Thanks in advance.

the idea behind this area on WordPress.org is to showcase your design/plugin/theme/widget/etc. not to slap up a blog with a downloaded theme and ask for feedback. So it might be better to identify what tweaks you made to the theme, let us know what you changed, ’cause to me it looks OOTB.

I wasn’t aware that I had the wrong idea about this area of the forum, I thought this was a place to post and get feedback on people’s blogs in general, not just design and bespoke elements.

My bad, I’m not a designer so I guess I won’t be spending much time here!!

no, stay here see what others are doing, learn from them and expand on what you learn
