• Hello,

I’ve been asked to setup a product reservation system (that’s what I’m calling it, anyway) for an upcoming warehouse sale.

How the system would ideally work:
    1. I add every product that’s in our warehouse sale to the website (Description, price, photos)
    2. Potential warehouse sale attendees visit the website and register
    3. Attendees have the option to look at an item, and ‘reserve it’
    4. After it has been reserved, it is removed from the website
    5. From 9AM-11AM on day of the sale, customers can come pay and pickup their ‘reserved’ item.

    The benefit to the customer?
By registering, they are able to get ahead of the pack and reserve their items beforehand.

    The benefit to us?
It will help us forecast attendance for the sale, and will allow us to be able to clear a lot of inventory in an organized fashion, very early in the day. This will help with lines, logistics, etc.

So far, the only option I can see is installing an e-commerce plugin and setting the price to $0.00 on each item. But, I’m hoping that someone has run into this problem in the past.

You may ask, why not just use e-commerce then? My thinking, also. The reason is because legally we cannot accept payment online for items as we are a manufacturer.

I’d love to hear your input/suggestions. Thanks!

tl;dr I need customers to be able to reserve products online for later pickup & payment.
