I think I installed everything ok but then I tried to log in to wordpress and the following shows:

    Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the http://94.141.25.171/phpmyadmin/ database.

    Are you sure it exists?
Does the user bobsdrunk have permission to use the http://94.141.25.171/phpmyadmin/ database?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_http://94.141.25.171/phpmyadmin/. Could that be the problem?
If you don't know how to set up a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.

How do I get this right? I tried every possible combination in the wp-config.php

    Cheers,

    Teyler

http://94.141.25.171/phpmyadmin/ is the location of you phpMyAdmin installation. You need to use the name of your database *within* phpMyAdmin in you wp-config.php file (i.e. the name of the database that you see when you're logged into phpMyAdmin).

    Hi thanks for your help!
    I changed it into DB_NAME at wp-config.php

But I get the same result but then with the larger link.

This is what I get when I am logged in inside PHPmyadmin :
    http://94.141.25.171/phpmyadmin/index.php?db=bobsdrunk&token=0ff932f89a89cd48e4837cb41bf23b85

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the http://94.141.25.171/phpmyadmin/index.php?db=bobsdrunk&token=0ff932f89a89cd48e4837cb41bf23b85 database.

    Are you sure it exists?
Does the user bobsdrunk have permission to use the http://94.141.25.171/phpmyadmin/index.php?db=bobsdrunk&token=0ff932f89a89cd48e4837cb41bf23b85 database?

Am I doing something pretty stupid?

    Thanks again!

  4. If you don't know how to set up a database you should contact your host.

Forget about phpmyadmin for now. You need to ask your host how to setup a new database for WordPress. It looks like your user name and password are OK, and "localhost" is ok for the server URL, but there is no actual database. If you created a new database with the name "phpmyadmin," that can't be used. Set up a new database with another name and enter that info into wp-config.php

They may tell you to use phpmyadmin to make a new database; if that's the case, ask them for complete instructions.
