problems with wp-admin/install.php 2.8.2; install doesn't run (4 posts)

I am trying to install WP 2.8.2 using cpanel.
I have already a website online ( html) that I want to change for another one that includes a blog, like the one that I have in wordpress.com ( in fact, I wouldn't move mine, if I knew a bit of CSS to re-size the header background).
I don't want to touch the present website until the new one is done.
I installed the package through filezilla using the unzipped folder that I renamed "blog" ( with filezilla I see folders, but not files). This folder went to the root.

After uploading, I tried to go to http://website.com/blog/wp-admin.install.php and I got several times the following:

    Not Found
The requested URL /blog/wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an Error Document to handle the request.

I checked the config and seems OK.

My five minutes are already two weekends. I love using WordPress, but I need more flexibility that WP.com.

    Could you please help me?

something is goofy then. I use filezilla and it shows all files - hidden ones as well.
Are you sure you unzipped the entire wordpress folder?

    Hello,

None of the files either in my computer or in the server appears in filezilla. I only see files. I thought it was normal.

Sorry that I didn't answer before, but being new at the forum, I thought that since I gave my email address, at the moment that an answer would appear, I would get a mail ( glubs!)

    Hi Samboll,

Do you have any other idea for me?

I can see everything in the cpanel. Neverhteless I am still stuck at the same point.

    Many thanks in advance

    Esther
