Problems with viewing site in IE (4 posts)

    Hi

There are a couple of issues viewing the site http://www.fitnesswestonsupermare.co.uk/ in IE.

The first issue is that the dropdown menu items at the top are not showing any colour, they seem to be transparent.

The second issue is the links on the menu bar to the right of big image. When these links are clicked the picture to the left should change.

The site is working correctly on both Firefox and Chrome.

Could someone please help as I am not sure where to even start looking for the answer!

    Thanks

What versions of IE are you having trouble with? I see you have some conditional comments in the HTML that uses different JavaScript for the dropdowns if lte IE7. Does this need extending to other IE versions?

I have tested on IE 6 and 7, I think my colleague uses ie8 but can't be sure about that one.

    They all show problems!

Looking at it, it seems to me that the menus are managed using JavaScript.

Do you have control over that JavaScript or is it something you've obtained from a third party (like the theme developers)?

Either way, you need to be in contact with whoever did the JS, from what I can see. I'm not a JS expert so I'd hesitate to make suggestions as to how to change the code when I'm not in a position to mess about with it myself. Especially if the problem lies in the defective version of JS that MS insists on foisting on the world.

If you can't persuade the developers to help you, there may be somebody else on this forum who can suggest something. There may be something obvious I've missed.

    Cheers
