I'm also wondering whether I can use the static front page in my main domain, e.g., at http://www.idiotonastick.com ← static front page, but my blog is in a subdirectory called talk.

Will it work in the main domain and then keep my blog the same at /talk ?

if you created a static page with a slug of home, and activate the plugin, it should work. or then you have another plugin who is changing the home page request.

@jaber: it will work where wordpress is at.

if you using the spanish localization, it might be something else, e.g. initio -- see the config.php file in your theme's directory.

plugin is already working... The page must be called 'inicio' and not 'home'

    Thank you very much!
