Problems with Registration…

    I have just done a wordpress site for some friends – now because his Dad runs the site (the boy is only 11) they want anyone to be able to register.. .but comments moderated.

    Now, when people go to ‘register’, it says to check your email to get the password – but no email ever turns up to them… I tried registering myself, I checked my spam – simply no email.

    has anyone struck this problem before? And is there a way for people to choose their own password?

    This can happen for a number of reasons to do with your server configuration. You can either troubleshoot the server configuration issue (focuaing on the PHP mail() function), or use the WP Mail SMTP plugin (which I think is great).

    That’s awesome Tim… will definitely check that out. I notice it’s a problem for many on here. Thanks for your advice – hopefully will work 😉
