    Hello,
When I write a post and hit "publish", WordPress will only post a line at a time, and no formatting (links, blockquotes etc) at all. I'm going backwards and forwards editing and saving to get anything up, and can't link to anyone. Has anyone got any suggestions about what to do? (By the way, I'm really not very tech-savvy, and am just a user of WordPress rather than the person who installed it on my site, so I may have to ask some clarifying questions to anyone who's kind enough to respond).

    Thanks, Antonia

    Hey Antonia,
What do you mean by only one line at a time?

    Hello Johnson Phillip,

I mean that I'm writing my post in notepad, copying one sentence or line (a few words) at a time into WP, hitting publish, then going back to notepad, copying the next few words, hitting edit, inserting them, hitting save, then going back to notepad, etc etc. It's driving me crazy. And WP won't accept any formatting at all, so my posts have no links, no blockquotes, no italics etc. Do you have any ideas?

Does anyone have any ideas? It's still doing it, and a blog without links is utterly dreadful.

We also have problems-we format our post in Word-and it looks like it's right-hit save and it changes-color, font, size etc.
Then the text increases and decreases on our sidebar-then slips over onto the page where it doesn't show up so all the navigation is gone. We have deleted the page and started over-that helps sometimes.

we format our post in Word

    That's a big mistake!
Search around and you will see that it is NOT advised at all.
There are some work-arounds but you should get rid of Word when working wiht your WP installation.

tonibella, why aren't you doing all your writing in the wordpress dashboard? if you are editing/writing in notepad, why aren't copying/pasting your entire article one time and then edit as necessary in the wp dashboard?

it is possible to paste an entire article in wp and add your links/blocks, etc. write from the dashboard.

do you have visual/code tag options in your dashboard writer?

i just did a forum-wide search = MS word and here is what moshu means = the first of many posts...
