problems with my popup comments, colours not showing up right

im having problems with my popup comments; most of the css is working, but the text still shows up black (on a black background). i looked through my stylesheet and none of the text is set to the colour black.
is there some other type of css i need for the text colour for the comment text? because even before it showed up as white (versus grey, the colour the rest of the text is)
