Hello,

I have been trying it out now, but I have a major issue with fonts.

1. How can I go back to the original size, to begin with?
2. 16pt, 20pt, 22pt are missing. I use these sizes the most other than any other sizes. Please restore them! … and add 28pt also?
3. Formats (for Headers and Paragraphs) are not … ??? don’t know how to explain … not set right. I cannot get the format I want at all and they change every time … sizes are not set, meaning they change according to the FONT SIZES. They are not supposed to … correct? It was not like this before.

And, I still cannot get to the Pro version page …

Thanks!

Hi,

1. I’m not sure what you mean here.
2. Yes.. these were added by me manually in the old version. I forgot to include them in this version. I will update this very soon to include the extra font sizes.
3. I’m not sure what you mean by this either? Perhaps you can get a screenshot and post the link here?

Or, you may contact me directly using the contact form on my one site that is working at the moment:
http://joshlobe.com/contact-me/

That will come to me directly.. and we can pick up via email; where it is easier to attach screenshots.

LOL … sorry, it’s late …

I will get my act together tomorrow and let you know what I meant to mean .. but especially the “Format” thing is pretty confusing …

Thank you for the contact info. It will help a lot.

No worries at all.
We will get through all this eventually šŸ™‚

Table .. I have not tired. I don’t know how to use it yet .. I will try.

1) Well .. I was trying to explain these about fonts.

There used to be a “neutral” place [Font Size] to go back so that the fonts will go back to the original size. Now, I cannot tell which size was original because there is not neutral position, where I started with.

2) Ok, then the Formats.

It used to be that when I clicked a certain format, such as “Headings 1,” the plugin automatically chose the font style and size that are set by the theme … correct? That was whatever the size of the font used for the text originally. But now, if the original text I want to change to “Headings 1” will not be in the set format, meaning, if is was in size 24pt, then it will be change 24pt, not 32pt for the Headings 1, etc. It does not seem to have the “preset” size .. every time I try it … comes out in a different size and font style … so I cannot use it.

3) OK, here is another issue I have noticed, but not sure if it is the plugin.

Someone mentioned this too on the other thread. When I want to have an extra space between 2 paragraphs, it reverts back to “no space” by itself, over and over … even when I go to text editor and add ‘
‘ and ‘ ‘ manually. It keeps corrupting the codes …. so I ended up typing “-” in between, then it stuck.

It was not happening very often before, and when I manually fixed it and saved as text before going back to the visual editor, it was OK. I might have seen a feature to fix it in a paid version … is there?

Anyway, I said a lot … take you time.

Thank you.

Well.. let me first please ask you to do a little testing for me.

Now that you see how it works with the plugin activated… go ahead and deactivate WP Edit.

Now… how many of the issues above remain?
If they remain… it is not the plugin causing the change in behavior… it would be another plugin, the theme, or WP itself.

So, let’s first determine if the behavior is coming from my plugin. Deactivate WP Edit. Load the editor again.. and see how many of the issues remain.

Thread Starter Olivia0906

(@olivia0906)

OK .. I have deactivated-reactivated WP Edit and tried with the same post I had the problems with.

1) The first font issue …. resolved, I believe for now, that I can go back to the original size.

2) The Formats issue is still there. Every time, it is different. Sometimes, it changes, sometimes not. I have tried Headings 1, then down to 3, 4, they were in the same font, no Italics, still in bold, and then as I tried go back to H1, did not happen. I believe H 2 or H3 was in Italic Size 18pt.. but any more. Also, some times, H1 will not go down in size when switched to H2 , 3, or 4. I had to go back to the original text to change the Headings format. Basically, it is not stable at all and does not reflect the Theme’s Headings setting any longer.

3) The space between the paragraphs … this was an intermittent problem to begin with, so I cannot be certain if it is fixed … but here is what happened.

I deactivated WP Edit and tried it. The problem did not reappear. Checked the codes, and ‘ ‘ was there. Then, reactivated WP Edit, and it was still OK. I tried it a few times, and still was OK. … and hope it stays that way. šŸ™‚

Okay.. thank you.
I just released version 1.4 of WP Edit.

This fixes the font size options… more are available now.
It also addresses some options not saving properly.

WooHoo!

THANK YOU! My fonts sizes are back. You must have done unimaginable amount of work on this whole thing with the WP 3.9 update …. they have changed a lot with the editor. It will be some time for me to learn new tricks. Looking forward to learning more awesome things you have done.

I appreciate you work, and depend on it as I am code challenged. And, your customer service is second to none.

Thanks.

My problems with font sizes aren’t solved at all.
When I add text to an existing page the font sizes are different.
For instance the old font is 12 pnts and when I adjust the new text 12 pnts is much bigger.
Besides that the layout changes after saving.
Also I wonder why the Word-import has gone + why you can’t get an extra line after Enter (new alinea).

Plugin Author Josh

(@josh401)

Okay, let’s test something.

1. Deactivate my plugin.
2. Create a test post.
3. Type some content for testing.

4. Switch to the ‘text’ tab view.. and add this line:

TESTING 12PT FONT

Now.. switch back to the ‘visual’ tab view… and see if that font size is what you were expecting.

Remember… this is with my plugin deactivated.

So, what we are doing is determining if my plugin is interfering with those font sizes.. or if it is something WP or TinyMCE has changed.

I’ll await your results.

Thank you.

Sorry it took a while to respond.
Josh, I did your test, but with the plugin deactivated the font is still larger than the other. I’ve told you this occurs on pages where there already is text…but also on new pages.
When I inspect the page for instance with Firebug it says 12 pt – while the old font was and still is 12 pt but much smaller!
Like I’ve said when I change the new text into 10 pt it’s the same size as the current (old) 12 pt font.
May be it has to do with my theme: Artisteer built with WordPress.

Josh, I did your test, but with the plugin deactivated the font is still larger than the other.

Okay, so this means the issue has something to do with the editor and/or your theme.

I know the old Tinymce3 used “px” for the font sizes. The new Tinymce4 uses “pt” for font sizes. Any content created the old way will still show properly.

Also, whatever font the editor is initializing with will also remain the same.

It’s when you adjust a font using the new ‘pt’, that it will not be the same as the old ‘px’.

Does this make sense?

apestaartje

(@apestaartje)

yeah, I guess so…
