Problems with a new installation

    I just installed WordPress and done an update. I had two problems one of which has been resolved.

    1) widget page had no funtionality (fixed by hosting firm with a code change)
    2) images cannot be removed and when I try to remvove an image I am sent to a page with the 404 code.

    there are no plug ins installed. In fact only one image was uploaded to check this problem.

    In a previous installation with these problems, I also had problems remving polugins.

    Try switching to the dafault theme and see if you have any problems or not

    Richard, I have not installed a theme yet. I just loaded WordPress with the default themes. Given the trouble I had had before, I checked the widget section first and that was not working. The people at Inmotion hosting added some line of code to fix that but are now working on trying to figure out why deleting a file does not happen.

    It is truly wierd as another site I loaded on the same server never had this problem.

    Again this is a fresh installation with the default theme and default content.
