    Hi there,

I'm trying to make a custom about.php with static content. I try to put it in the base wordpress installation folder and it will load, but gets parse errors because it can't find the header and what not. I try to put it in the theme folder but my problem is that I do not want my URL to show for example (www.example.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/temp/about.php). I want it to show (www.example.com/about.php) but I want it to load the header from the theme folder. Is there anything I can do? Thank you for reading.

Use a Page Template and 'attach' it to a Page.

if you customize it enough you dont have to load the theme header
then pick the template when you create a page. that solves one problem but as far as http://www.example.com/about.php im not sure =(

Other then copying and pasting what I want and making a new page through wordpress, I won't get what I want. I mean, if I hack wordpress up and modify everything, I doubt it will work in an easy fashion. Thank you anyway.

Can't think of anything much easier than the Page Template concept with Pages...
