• I already have a wordpress multi site installation installed, but I want to install another to be able to create subdomains on that domain.

But when I try to install a fresh wordpress install it comes up with this: The installation can not be completed:

    – You chose to install in the main directory of the domain domain.info, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain domain.info (path=”/home/user/public_html/”).You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation: (All the files of my other wordpress install)

How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

If you want to overwrite a previous Fantastico installation, you need to use Fantastico to remove the previous installation first.

I don’t want too overwrite a previous installation, I want another installation next to my existing one. How can I accomplish this?

Install WordPress in a different directory, or create a network:

I installed wordpress in a different directory. My existing wp multi site installation is in public_html. I installed a subdomain in a folder on the same level as public_html. I made a new database for it, and uploaded wordpress in the folder. Now when I go to sub.domain.tld/wp-admin/ it shows: Error establishing a database connection. While I am 100% sure that I’ve entered the right password and usernames, any suggestions?
