• Hi,

I’m a complete blog / wordpress noob, just been trying to verify my blog page with google webmaster tools so that it appears in web searches.
I followed the instructions provided, created a page and titled it with the google test code thing that i was prompted to download and use, this worked but when i hit the Verify button it stated that the page had the wrong content and could not verify.

I was not aware or could see any instructions to do with page content.

please help as this is really doin my head in,

    Thanks in advance

    Ed

  • You need to create a blank page in a plain text editor (no content), save it with the title that Google gave you and upload this file to the root of your site using FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides) .

    Hi,
thank you for your response unfortunately i’m obviously a Neanderthal when it comes to this as i still don’t know what i’m supposed to do, i’m using wordpress.com so not using an independent host.
