Problems using featured content gallery with jquery-based theme

Hello there,

I have recently decided that use the columnist template for my new website. It uses jquery for a number of things including dropdown menus.

I really love the theme and want to use the featured content gallery with it but when it’s installed the drop down menue stops working and also the FCG doesn’t load any images (i have assigned 4 posts using custom fields so that shouldn’t be the problem).

I understand that jquery doesn’t work well with mootools, but i’m just wondering if there is any way of working around this conflict?

Any help would be greatly appreciated…
