• I’m trying to move my blog from an old host to godaddy. The blog is not viewable on the old host so I can’t determine the version of wordpress. I uploaded my content and imported the database. When I try to access the blog on the new host, I get this…

Warning: fopen(/home/chuisano/public_html/ehm/wp-content/backup/.htaccess) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/e/x/p/expres12/html/ehm/wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress/functions.php on line 377

The blog is located at http://www.mortgageguyblog.com. Any guidance is appreciated. I’m a little rusty so please go easy… TIA

  • I thought Godaddy was a registrar.

Well, first, I strongly discourage the use of GoDaddy (a registrar and hosting service) as a host. I had a WP install there and could not get into my database, then when I tried to move it elsewhere, could not download my files. It was a huge headache.

Make sure your files/directories that need to be writeable, are writeable, that .htaccess is present and correct and the site url and address in your database are updated.

In the database, is this the only place I need to change the url?

    (1, 0, 'siteurl', 'http://mortgageguyblog.com/ehm', 'yes'),

Or are there other places that need to be changed as well.

    BTW, thanks for the replies.

    Peacearena as a good point.

I highly recommend you find a host that allows external MySQL connections! Makes moving to another host so much easier.
