    Hi guys,

I am new to wordpress, only just started working on it.

I have just installed some plugins and they work great. But one within about an hour of installing says their is an update to the plugin.

When I click to automatically update, it brings me to an FTP connection page within WordPress asking me for my FTP details.

I enter them and they then say they are incorrect. I have the WordPress setup on a subdomain but the FTP details are the same for this as the main site.

Why isn’t this working and what can I do to sort this?

  • Check your FTP login credentials with your hosts. Some sub-domains have a separate FTP account.

    Hi ESMI,

Thanks for that. We didn’t realise that we needed to create an new FTP account specifically for the subdomain, as we could already access it from the root. We created an FTP for the sub-domain and now it is working fine.

Many thanks for that, wouldn’t have thought about that without you.

    Cheers

    Dan
