  • Hi guys, I’m new to this site and also fairly new to the whole wordpress world! I’ve been revamping our work website (simple enough task right?) but I seem to just run into trouble every step of the way, anyway, whilst redesigning the appearance of the page, I seem to have some how edited the colour of the actual page I’ve got selected in the menu and can’t seem to figure out exactly how to change it back. anyone got any thoughts at all?

And then my next issue is that I’ve also got the page title selected running at the top of the page (almost like a sub-header?) and I can’t for the life of the find out how to get rid of it..

If anyone could be amazingly helpful and tell me exactly what I’ve got to do to fix the messy muddle I’ve actually created at the moment please get in touch, because I’m at the stage where pounding your head against a firm brick wall seems like the best idea!

  • When I get in a mess like that, I comment out changes that I have made recently, or even restore entire files to their original versions, until I get back to a working site. Then I gradually restore the changes one by one, until I can identify what is wrong.

For more detailed help, it would be useful if you can specify exactly what you have been editing. To redesign the appearance of a site, I always create a child theme so that the original theme remains intact. Is that what you have done?
