Hi everyone,
I am having serious problems trying to make my wordpress blog my home page, but regardless of the fact that I tried to follow the instructions on the wordpress support site I cannot get it to work...
Could someone give me simple instructions on how to do this?

your question is ambiguous. what do you mean by make your blog your homepage - have it be the page that comes up when someone types in
http://www.mydomain.com ?
If you installed it in a folder and not at the top level, (a good idea) you can cause that to happen be creating a redirect from
/index.htm to http://mydomain.com/blog__folder
If you don't know how to set up a redirect ask your webhost for help.
On the other hand, if you mean that some page other than your blog posts is now the front page on your blog, that is a whole other issue. please clarify
No,no,no - do not redirect!
You must move your blog from folder to root:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory
Either option will work.
