I'm having problems importing the OPML file created by Google Reader. I have saved the file and opened it in OPML Editor just fine. I've even added the <?xml ... ?> to the first line, but still, I am receiving the same error over and over again:
XML error: no element found at line 1
Thoughts? Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be a line encoding problem, since I'm running OS X?

I'm running on Linux (Ubuntu) and see the same error import OPML files from either Bloglines or Google Reader. If I point WordPress at the export URL for the Google Reader, it claims success, but imports nothing.
At this point I'm thinking the fault is on the side of the WordPress code.
