Problems following server/domain name move (4 posts)

Hi, I have a problem with a site I've just moved from a test server to a new server and new domain name. Despite changing the config.php file to reflect the new database details, the site is trying to look for the old domain name and I'm getting a loop effect which results in the following error message.

    "Redirect Loop
Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.
The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.
    * Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site?
    * NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is probably a server configuration issue and not your computer."

It is a configuration problem and not a cookie issue.

Originally the redirect was simply redirecting the new domain name to old one, but when I attempted to change the url in the old version of wordpress it resulted in the loop we see now and I can't login to change it ...... I really need help here as the articles I found in the codex don't seem to talk about this problem.

Because the location of any WP blog (remember the 2 URL values in admin > Settings > General) are stored in the database.
